WAHAHAAHAA..... Labels: My first day of admin work at Aviva...
I know is rather late to say now about how's my first day of work and stuff... I should have blogged it earlier but i am jus plain lazy when i know there's gonna be so many things to say..=
Anyway, i shall say it now...heehee...This is gonna be a wordy post... Be prepared...
My first day of work till now:
Alright here's how it goes... I was to report to Aviva building for work at 9am at Cecil street. As i have nvr been to Aviva, so i am really sure how to get there even though i have checked the road directory n stuffs..haha. I alighted at Raffles MRT, exit F, sort of blindly finding my own way to the building. While crossing the road, i saw a buillding which says 'Aviva' and i tot i have found the building and the time was already 8.50am. I walked quickly to the building and went straight to the receptionists that i am finding this person called'yanling' at lvl 8. And after the receptionist saw the address of the place i working, she told me i have come to the wrong building as the building i am at was SGX Centre, Aviva building is 2 streets away. And the receptionist told me that there was another girl came to the wrong place too n had just left.
I should say i am really a lucky person, or rather i just get to meet & know pple in an unexpectedly special way sometimes... In other meaning, perhaps i should say is this is called fate. =) Is really coincidence... After i left SGX centre, while i was waiting to cross the road, i saw this girl who seems to have the same recruit express paper as i had. But i didnt approached yet after sawing it and she was also noticing me already... After crossing the road, i kept turning around to find where's the Aviva building and while i was searching, the girl i saw suddenly approached me and asked if i was going Aviva. And i said ya n we both laughed at the same time in the public.... Then we intro our names. And guess wat?! Both of us have similiar names ok... She's called Siyun...haha... What's more is that, we were allocated to the same lvl and department for work and we are born in the same year... Wahaha.... Is really what a coincidence, i mean is like how many times or chances in ur life will u get to know someone in this kind of situation?
Oh and on my first day of work, i am being allocated to Distribution Support, i was rather stunned when my supervisor, Ivy, said i will be taking over a colleague's, Dhana's portfolio as she's going to resigned. All along i tot that my admin job was really going to be really easy and slack tt kind but it turns out to be rather stressful in the first two weeks as i have lots to learn from Dhana and is everyday learning non-stop and is a real admin job for me. But comes to think of it, it is a rather good working experience. As i got a glimpse of what's the real working world like. And i think i leanrt over 10stuffs such as doing commission report, persistency report, SAR report, Sorting incoming mails, emailing Advisors of sale leads(Which i am scared of most), stationery ordering, forms packing, updating CPD results, etc.... There were times i was alittle unhappy as i have been learning so many things non-stop and all the stuffs are new to me, What's more is tt Dhana kept asking me to be faster and whenever i asked her to repeat she jus say me tt i need to remember them and be sure of how to do. Anyhow, jus wanna say tt was little unhappy on the way she handle and teach things sometimes. As for now, work is not so bsy already, i am rather slacked actually. Most of the time, i have been helping my colleagues to do stuffs....=x
And i also got to realise that there are many temp staffs in my department like me... Altogether now there are Siyun, Zihui, Eve, Ryan(Who has just left), Hock leong(Siyun's bf) and Jessica. All my colleagues are rather nice... Will always go for lunch with Siyun,hock leong, zihui, eve, and jessica. Recently have been going Amoy hawker regularly... But there's simply many cheap, and delicious food selling there..lol....=x And i had lunch individually with Zhenqi, Gen and Sanmei so far... Thanks for coming and had lunch with me! =)
Oh and the second person i felt tt i have fate with is Jessica... Jessica jus came to work after i have been in Aviva for two weeks. And she's actually sitting besides me and jus temp taking over Silas's(from strategic department) job for3 weeks as Silas went for reservist in thailand. Jessica is from ngee ann poly too! But she's yr 2 this yr and is studying IT. What's more is tt, her CCA room is at the same room as NPS. Meaning she is from Klaveirensemble(KE) and she also went to watch virtuoso XV too..wahaha... And everyday at work, when we are bored, we have lots to talk about, but it seems like most of the topics are music.=x But she also told me the spooks of music room! OMG... I was kinda scared when she told me the spook tales of it...haha... And this girl is so skinny but she also another one who can eat alot but wont get fat.... And she's so addicted to buying Muffins fr Amoy hawker centre for her teabreak in offiice now. Eversince i introduced her the mufffins, she seems like she cant stop buying them. And the ginger tea too..Lol..
Anyway, is the 4th week i am working in Aviva already... Time flies quite fast actually... And by right my contract is 8 weeks, my last day should be 10th Oct... But i went to ask my supervisor if i can end my work early so tt i can go china and visit my dad. My supervisor, Ivy, is so generous and nice! She allowed me to leave on 24th Sept and helped me to tell the HR department to settle the problem for me with Recruit Express so as i would be considered breaching the contract..=x And yeap my last day is on 24th sept! which means i only worked for out 6 weeks...=)
Anyone wanna come find me for lunch at Amoy hawker, lau pat sat or Dudu's cafe?? i can bring u to have yummy food!! Text me a sms! wahaha...=x
Just felt that Lady Luck is on me... Jus when i tot that life might be at the toughest, it turns out not...=) Ganbari masho! =)
Today is a busy day for me, not really about my work but i have been busy sms-ing pple...haha.. Be it long or short smses to pple, i already smsed 10 pple! And i think i smsed shuyi, sanmei, sheerui, weiwei, gen, shijuan, yunxiang, suzanne, sherry and xiuli.. haha! =x
